We’ve recently seen an increase in walk-ins with inactive Medicaid coverage seeking eyewear. Please remember that it is the responsibility of all in-house staff to verify eligibility information for these patients before proceeding with services.

When reviewing TPL memos, pay close attention to any notes such as “Covered by CT,” Hospital Lock-in, Medicare A/B, or other (PRIMARY) listed insurance plans. These cases require additional investigation to confirm the patient’s current eligibility status.
